How to remove shortcut virus from your PC?

Most of the time we face a problem, that is- we have copied a file into our hard-disk from a pendrive. When we click the file we don't have any data. ? It's not harmful, but very irritating.  It creates a shortcut file in our every hard disk partition. We delete it, but it comes again.

How to work this virus:

It's a Latent Trojan Virus (hidden virus). As a result any anti-virus doesn't find it. It will spread if you don't click the shortcut icon. When you click the shortcut icon, then it will start to spread in every partition and hide your data.

Precaution:

1.  Before copying any file scans it through a good antivirus. I'm using Windows Defender in Windows 8.1.
2. Use Copy to/Send to option when copying any file.
3. Don't click any compromised file. Because it will not spread before to click it.
